Welcome
to the 21st century! In the
21st century we communicate via email. Not allowing your
constituents to send you an email is an insult to us for whom you work – as if
you don’t want to hear from us.
There
seems to be a serious gap in legal education. We are governed not just by laws
written by humans, but above all of those, by the laws of mathematics, physics,
chemistry, and biology. If you doubt that, I encourage you to attempt to evade
the law of gravity.
I’m
most concerned by your apparent lack of knowledge of basic biology, especially
conservation biology. Opposing abortion leads to the overpopulation of the
Earth by humans – the ultimate cause of the Sixth Extinction crisis and a major
factor in global warming, ozone depletion, ocean acidification, pollution, and
many other well-known ills.
Your
re-definition of a “wetland” is jaw-droppingly
ignorant. Even grade school children know that all life requires access to
water, and that not all bodies of water are connected to each other.
Apparently
you think that other species aren’t important. But I have news for you: humans
are 100 percent dependent on the existence and welfare of other species. For
example, half of the cells in the human body are not human cells; they are
bacteria or fungi. Or viruses. And they are essential
to our health. Half of the oxygen we breathe is produced by algae or
photosynthesizing bacteria in the ocean. Green plants clean the air. Vultures and
dung beetles recycle the remains of living organisms. Etc. We have to give top
priority to protecting wildlife and their habitat, or we will end up driving
Homo sapiens itself extinct. And then you will be out of a job!
Corporations
are “persons”? The Second Amendment is being used to do harm far more
often than good. It allows people to have guns, but it says nothing about ammunition!
Have you allowed your lifetime appointments to go to your head? Do you think you are infallible? Do you feel no need to consult other experts, such as us, for whom you work? Your unbelievable arrogance has led to the disaster that is the current “Supreme Court”. You obviously can’t fix it yourselves; you are going to need help.
